At one point in time, the MIAA was the home of Michigan State University (then Michigan Agricultural College) and Eastern Michigan University (then Michigan Normal College). Other former members of the MIAA include Defiance, Hillsdale, and Wisconsin Lutheran. Now, the members of the conference are Adrian, Albion, Alma, Calvin, Hope, Kalamazoo, Olivet, St. Mary's, and Trine. Calvin does not participate in football and St. Mary's only participates in women's athletics. In 2010, the football team moved into their new home at Zollner Stadium. The 5,000+ capacity stadium also holds events for lacrosse, field hockey, and soccer. Included in the stadium are the football coaches' offices, weight room, training room, and a locker room with a capacity to hold 150 players. The press box and upper level of the stadium set it apart from any other facility in the MIAA. Thunder Club members can sit in the open-air patio known as the Thunder Deck on game days and the four private boxes can be used as hotel rooms throughout the year. Also included in the upper level is the 1,300-square-foot Trine hospitality suite.
